On December 17, 2023 Past President Klaus, President Raymund and Honorary Rotarian Jun (Philippine Army Reservist) of Rotary International Multinational Manila (RIMM) along with Past President Don of Rotary Club of Geelong Central, Australia travelled to Barangay Banoyo, Batangas for rice distribution to the Aeta tribe donated by Academy of World Healing Foundation (AWH) and RIMM.
The Aeta tribe had been forced to relocate just before the pandemic started in 2020 to the mountain slopes from their former location at the beach because the area was desired for further vacation rental expansion and had received rice and housing support from AWH and RIMM at that time. Meeting the 76 families at the base of their new mountain home where they now live, 5kg of rice was distributed to each of them.
Before returning to RIMM H.Q., follow-up research pertaining to the Jan. 2020 earthquakes and the resulting Taal Volcano eruption were conducted along Taal Lake and vicinity.
